I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant Mike Tindall narrowly missed out on being crowned King of the Jungle on Saturday night after he was booted from the show. During his time in the jungle, many were worried about how he spoke about the Royal Family and the controversy it could cause. However, he soon became a fan favourite for his personality and humour. He reunited with his wife Zara Tindall on the iconic bridge before arriving at the hotel with his fellow campmates.

As he arrived at the lavish JW Marriott hotel with his wife Zara, Mike threw his arms up in the air in celebration of arriving back into civilisation.

He was given a warm welcome by his former campmates and received a huge hug from Seann Walsh and Sue Cleaver.

After a small catch-up in the hotel lobby with his friends, Mike and Zara headed to their room for a shower and food.

It is unclear if the royal couple will stay in the hotel for the next 48 hours along with the other contestants.

The former rugby player admitted that his time in the jungle helped him overcome challenges and continue to have a positive attitude.

Speaking to presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly during his eviction interview, he told them: “I am good, I am good.

“I think it has been a long time so you are getting ready, I could feel my body getting ready, you know when the final day could be and I always said going into the final week I am happy to go.

“But then you get to a tipping point where you go, well actually at this point you want to stay and then Cyclone yesterday was a lot of fun.

“So yeah I am pretty comfortable with it. It has been an amazing journey and have been very lucky with everyone that has been in there.

“The camp has worked together and that’s being a team for a long period of my life, teams, and I didn’t expect it to work as well as it did so. It has been a lot of laughs, everyone has their distinct humour.

“The only time that I really almost had a little wobble was when we did the nighttime challenge but then Seann had a wobble and it got me back to focus on Seann and I just go, right we have to get this, take your time.”

Not letting him get away with the budgie smugglers, the Geordie duo teased Mike for his small swimwear and asked if it was Zara’s idea.

He laughed and teased: “They were always my idea! You wear trunks in the shower, it’s always a bit of fun. Get my pineapples out!”

When asked who he wanted to win, he simply stated he hoped Lioness and England Footballer Jill Scott would be crowned Queen of the Jungle.

The final airs tonight at 9pm on ITV, where Jill, Matt Hancock and Owen Warner all stand a chance at being crowned the winner of I’m A Celebrity 2022.

Viewers have been left stunned at how far former Health Secretary Matt Hancock has made it in the series, with @ian_armer commenting on the official I’m A Celebrity Instagram page: “What universe have I stumbled into where Matt Hancock is in the final three?!!”

@charlotte_swift added: “HOW IS MATT THERE!”

@_garce.evie exclaimed: “Jill is a national treasure! If she doesn’t win then this whole thing is messed up!”

@luvvylynnthomas fumed: “Final three should be – Jill, Mike and Owen! Hancock shouldn’t even have been in the jungle in the first place.”

@bldavid21 claimed: “Matt in the final 3 this is fixed.” (sic)
