Strictly Come Dancing viewers tuned in to the BBC dance show on Sunday night to see who would make it through to the next week of the competition. TV chef John Whaite and his professional dance partner Johannes Radebe were thrilled when they found out they’d be returning for another week. However, John wasn’t too impressed when he found out which style of dance he’d have to take on next.
After revealing the dance duo would be returning next week, Claudia Winkleman remarked: “You looked quite nervous waiting for your name.”
John replied: “That was a risky little game, Claudia Winkleman!”
“I am so sorry,” Claudia said, before asking John to detail how he and Johannes prepare for each show.
John revealed they snack on jelly beans and cola before each Strictly performance.
However, he went on to add: “But, we don’t speak to each other. We just ignore each other and internalise everything.
“He’s on one corner of the room, I’m on the other, and we meet on the dance floor and hope for the best,” the chef confessed.
“Do you?” Claudia asked, with John confirming: “We do.”
Claudia went on to reveal which dance the couple would be taking on in the competition next.
“You have got the Rumba next week. The highest I think we’ve got so far in the series is 25,” the presenter said, highlighting how others have struggled with the dance style.
“Johannes, where are you going to go with this? Are you worried?” she asked.
Strictly pro Johannes swiftly replied: “I’m not. We’re going to the studio on Monday and we’re going to give it our all. Right?”
However, John made it clear he wasn’t feeling quite so confident about attempting the Rumba.
“I might call in sick on Monday,” he joked.
“No! You’re not allowed, you’re absolutely not allowed!” Claudia insisted.
John and Johannes may be safe for another week of the competition, but sadly the same couldn’t be said for Loose Women star Judi Love.
Judi and her dance partner Graziano Di Prima were eliminated on Sunday night.
Judi and Graziano found themselves in the dreaded dance-off after the result of the public vote.
The dance duo were up against Adam Peaty and Katya Jones but failed to impress the judges.
Strictly judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton du Beke and Shirley Ballas all chose to save Adam and Katya.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6:45pm on BBC One.
