The Chase fans were thrilled to see the show’s popular primetime spin-off Beat the Chasers back on our screens this week.
But after tuning into the primetime series, which sees all of The Chasers teaming up to take on just one brave contestant, many took to social media to ask a big question about the show’s line-up.
While Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan, Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty, Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace, Mark 'The Beast' Labbett and newest recruit Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis were all present, long-running star Paul Sinha was noticeably absent.
And it didn’t take long for diehard fans of the quiz show to ask where Paul, who has earned himself the nickname of The Sinnerman, was.
One said: “@paulsinha sorry you’re not on #beatthechasers tonight, hope to see you back on our screens soon.”
Another added: “Wish @paulsinha was on this #beatthechasers” as others flocked to agree and said that they were missing his presence.
So where is the star, who has appeared on the ITV quiz series fronted by Bradley Walsh since 2011?
Back when Beat the Chasers aired last year, Paul took to Twitter to explain he would not be starring in the new show due to health reasons.
He wrote: “New episodes of Beat the Chasers are on their way. Unfortunately, I wasn't well for the recordings and couldn't join in this time around.”
However, the star went on to reassure his fans that all was well and that he was in a much better place after taking some time out, as he added: “I'm feeling much better now. X.”
This comes after Paul’s co-star Shaun Wallace heaped praise on Paul as one of the brainiest Chasers the show has ever had.
During an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine, stand-in host Ranvir Singh asked Shaun if they had ever gone up against each other to see who would win the title of ultimate Chaser.
Shaun replied: “We haven't. But if you were to ask me who was the top Chaser, it would be hard.”
Going on to single out all the stars and their strengths, Shaun then said: “I suppose Mark and Paul are really stand out in terms of being consistent, being quick and being extremely clever.”
Beat the Chasers continues weeknights at 9pm on ITV
