Piers Morgan compares 'woke' people to Kim Jong-un in explosive TV interview

Piers Morgan compared ‘woke’ people to dictators and suggested they ‘take a chill pill’ in an explosive promo for Australia’s 60 Minutes.

It’s been a chaotic time since Piers stormed out of the Good Morning Britain studio in March following a confrontation with weatherman Alex Beresford, after Piers said he ‘didn’t believe’ Meghan Markle’s claims in her interview with Oprah.

And it certainly appears the journalist has still got a little fire stoking as a snippet from the upcoming Aussie episode saw him doubling down on his criticism of the royals.

As Meghan was seen in the Oprah interview talking about how she was ‘married’ to Harry before their televised Windsor Castle ceremony, Piers said: ‘There were downright lies that would make the Archbishop of Canterbury a criminal.’

He also referenced the Duchess – who had said she felt suicidal while living in the UK – personally complaining to ITV, as the presenter faced more than 40,000 Ofcom complaints in the days following his comments.

In the promo’s back and forth, interviewer Karl Stefanovic put it to Piers that he was ‘just an angry old man’, as the former tabloid editor claimed: ‘Freedom of speech is more important than actually the Meghan Markle debacle.’

He went on: ‘Who are these woke people, marching around like they’re Kim Jong-un with a dash of Vladimir Putin?’

‘Come on everybody, take a chill pill,’ Piers added, as Karl mused: ‘Are you gonna take one?’

It certainly seemed the Life Stories host had more stories to share in the no-holds-barred chat, as the 60 Minutes cameras captured him getting comfortable in a deck chair outside Kensington Palace, as well as taking selfies with a police officer.

The voiceover ominously said: ‘He duked it out with the duchess and famously got fired. Now, Piers Morgan

The programme will air Down Under at 8.32pm on Sunday, which is around 11.32am UK time, and while we may not be able to watch it from the comfort of our couches, we can only assume Piers will be live-tweeting it for us. Very helpful, that.
