Piers Morgan slams Carol McGiffin's 'mindless conspiracy c**p' as he defends decision to block her on Twitter

PIERS Morgan has slammed Carol McGiffin's "mindless conspiracy crap" as he defended blocking her on Twitter.

The Loose Women star found herself shut out ofher ITV co-star's posts after she called his stance on the coronavirus crisis "hysterical bulls**t".

And last night the 60-year-old attacked the Good Morning Britain star again, during an appearance on Kevin O'Sullivan's TalkRADIO show.

She said: "He's got a book out about free speech. The blurb on it is basically saying people can't debate anymore and they just shut people down.

"I'm thinking: Hang on – here's the blocker who's shutting people down because he doesn't want to hear what I've got to say to him. The hypocrisy is absolutely breathtaking."

Carol added: "I'm going to show people show people how intolerant he's become of any kind of dissent, especially when it comes to this virus."

But Piers tweeted the clip of her interview, writing: "Oh Carol, it’s got nothing to do with curbing your free speech.

"I don’t want to stop you talking your mindless covid conspiracy theory crap – I just prefer not to endure hearing it."

Referring to the former sports presenter turned conspiracy theorist, he added: "I blocked David Icke for the same reason."

Things first kicked off between Piers and Carol last week when he tweeted: "To everyone on here deluding themselves that Covid is ‘over’, take a look at Spain’s case & death rate in the past week.

"Then wake the f**k up. This pandemic has barely started."

But Carol replied: "Piers. The only deluded person around here is you. No one’s buying your hysterical bulls**t anymore.

"You did a brilliant job of scaring the nation into paralysis but it’s over now."

That was all it took for Piers to block Carol, who carried on retweeting people who agreed with her point of view.
