Sonic The Hedgehog Movie to ‘Fix’ Design After Fan Outcry, Says Director

Gotta go fast back into the editing bay, in the case of Sonic The Hedgehog. In a surprise move, director Jeff Fowler took to Twitter to respond to fan criticism of the new Sonic The Hedgehog movie design which came fast and hard after the new trailer was released earlier this week. IGN has reached out to Paramount for comment.

Watch the trailer below:

“Thank you for the support. And the criticism,” Fowler tweeted. “You aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast”

It’s unclear what the “fixes” will be and just how deep a redesign will go, but regardless, this is a rather unprecedented move for a studio to change a design that is so far down the road to completion. Sonic The Hedgehog is due in theaters in the United States on November 8th, and though the film’s effects are probably relatively far from being finished, this is still late in the game to do any overhaul on what seemingly was a pretty locked design.
