Star Trek Discovery is back this week on CBS and Netflix for fans of the sci-fi drama to enjoy once again. However, as the episodes will be airing weekly, some fans will be keen to know when exactly they are released and why they are not already all available. has a schedule guide for fans of the series to make sure you never miss an episode.

What time is Star Trek Discovery season 3 released on Netflix?

The third season of Star Trek Discovery will reunite viewers with the crew of the USS Discovery.

Sonequa Martin-Green is back in the lead role as Michael Burnham, as fans get a glimpse of new episodes.

The latest outing will be continuing the pattern of previous seasons and will be airing weekly.

Beginning on CBS in the US on Thursday, October 15, new episodes will then drop on Netflix on Fridays in the UK.

So far, Netflix has confirmed the first episode will be released on October 16 but not the exact timings.

In the past, the streaming platform has made its original content available at 8am GMT, due to the time difference between the UK and California.

As the show is a CBS Original, it is not entirely clear if it will follow the same pattern or not.

But based on how previous seasons were released, it is believed this will be the case again.

In order to be able to stream the episodes in the UK, fans will need to be subscribed to Netflix.

The platform no longer offers a free trial but membership begins at £5.99 for the basic access.

For multiple users and high definition, prices go up to £11.99 per month.

What will happen in Star Trek Discovery season 3?

Ahead of its release, an official synopsis has been dropped for the show teasing what is to come.

This reads: “After following Commander Burnham (Martin-Green) into the wormhole in the second season finale, season three of Star Trek: Discovery finds the crew of the USS Discovery landing in an unknown future far from the home they once knew.

“Now living in a time filled with uncertainty, the USS Discovery crew, along with the help of some new friends, must work together to restore hope to the Federation.”

Alongside Martin-Green, most of the other major cast members will also be returning.

This includes Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman and Wilson Cruz.

They will be joined by David Ajala in the new season who will play a character called Cleveland Booker.

Star Trek Discovery season 3 is released on Netflix on Fridays.
