SUSANNA Reid admitted today she's gained weight after gorging on bags of chocolate in lockdown.
The Good Morning Britain host confessed a single bar of chocolate is not enough when she needs a sweet treat.
Susanna, 50, revealed her eating habit during a chat about plans to slap huge taxes on sugary and salty foods – that will send prices rocketing and cost every household an extra £172.
She opened up during a debate with co-host Richard Madeley, who moaned about the shrinking size of a Mars bar over the years saying "it's now a little stick".
Susanna added: "Yes well when I go into a shop these things are massive now, there are sharing packs.
"I mean who buys a sharing pack and then shares it?
"I mean look at the lockdown pounds. It's all below the desk."
Government Food Tsar Henry Dimbleby unveiled plans for the £6-a-kilo tax on salty treats and a £3-a-kilo sugary food levy.
It would send the cost of every day foods like crisps, crumpets, jam and sweets soaring.
The nanny-state scheme would cost shoppers £4.8billion a year, says the Taxpayers’ Alliance – which they say will go towards providing free school meals.
Mr Dimbleby, the multimillionaire founder of the Leon fast food chain, unveiled his 288-page report demanding a total change in what we eat in a bid to tackle obesity and climate change.
He insisted Brits must slash the amount of meat they consume by 30 per cent — and suggested families swap sausages for insects or artificial meat.
Susanna previously lost weight when she gave up booze in 2019 but recently said she can't fit into her old dresses" after adding a few pounds to the scales in lockdown.
Last month, Susanna said said her "hot girl summer is a few months off" after her weight gain.
During the second lockdown, Susanna revealed she piled on a stone in.
