This Morning fans baffled as Alison Hammond keeps getting Dermot’s name wrong

This Morning host Alison Hammond baffled people tuning in today as they noticed that she kept getting her co-star Dermot O'Leary's name wrong as she chatted to him.

The presenter took over the ITV show as she was both hosting and guest editing, meaning she had full creative control over the format of the show, as well as what segment she wanted to air.

However, as she spoke to Dermot, fans couldn't help noticing that she was pronouncing his name strangely throughout the show.

Spotting that she was pronouncing his name as Der-mot, with the emphasis on the mot, fans took to social media to point out the mistake.

One posted: "Why is she calling him DerMOTT?"

Another added: "Very annoying."

A third chipped in: "'Durr-mott'."

However, one fan thought that Alison was doing it on purpose to get a reaction out of viewers as they chipped in: "She just pronounced Dermot correctly..proof that’s she’s saying ‘Durmott’ on purpose for s***’s and giggles!"

Despite the incorrect pronunciation, Dermot didn't react to the name blunder as the pair giggled together through the special show.
