Ever since the untimely death of her beloved dad Frank Clayton (Michael Praed) in Emmerdale, his daughter Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) has been on a one woman mission to clear her ex-con father’s name.
It seems to have been an open and shut case that Frank was up to no good and caused the fire in the factory to start, which ended with his death. But Tracy is determined that Frank was innocent of any wrong doing and has been feverishly trying to discover the true culprit.
Viewers know of course that Kerry and Amy Wyatt (Laura Norton and Natalie Ann Jamieson) are struggling with the difficult secret that they were the ones to accidentally start the fire when they stole the charity money to help Amy out of a debt.
They have had to watch as Tracy and Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) have been torn apart by grief, with even their own relationship as sisters taking a beating due to Tracy refusing to drop her investigation into what really happened.
With even Vanessa doubting whether her dad was blameless, Tracy is getting more and more desperate to pin the blame and tonight, her attentions turn to Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley). With her drug addict and criminal past, Dawn seems like an obvious choice for Tracy to blame and when she confronts her in the church, Dawn is shocked by the level of her fury.
Dawn finds herself trapped as Tracy gets in her face, brandishing blunt and holy weapons in her face. But as the truth dawns (geddit?) that she has the wrong person, will Tracy be forced to incorrectly accept that Frank was at fault?
Or will seeing her in such a state prompt Kerry or Amy to finally come clean and admit their part in the devastating tragedy?
Emmerdale continues on Monday 9th September at 7pm on ITV.
