The UK soaps, Emmerdale, Coronation Street, EastEnders and Hollyoaks, are likely to continue filming following the announcement of a second, but somewhat less severe England lockdown, Metro.co.uk can reveal.
Sources close to the shows suggested to Metro.co.uk that the ‘expectation was that filming would go on, with restrictions firmly still in place’ but it was added that no formal announcements or comments could yet be made.
Boris Johnson tonight announced a lockdown for England that would last until December 2 but suggested that many workplaces would continue to carry on, albeit with working from home where necessary.
While bars and pubs will be forced to close, the building trade will continue as will the Premier League.

TV productions have led the way in providing safe spaces to work with very strict social distancing and testing measures in place and these have proven successful to return EastEnders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks to our screens.
It is therefore the hope and expectation that this will remain largely unaffected as the Prime Minister was keen to eiterate that the lockdown is not as severe as what we faced in March.
Schools will remain open and patients are encouraged to continue using the NHS for all symptoms.
