For the past three seasons of Virgin River, Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson) has been endearing himself to fans thanks to his rollercoaster romance with Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge). As a result, the Netflix drama and its stars have garnered quite the fanbase, amassing hundreds of thousands of followers across social media. However, earlier this week, Henderson was forced to warn Instagram about a series of “fake accounts” posing as him.

Addressing his 917k Instagram followers, the Virgin River star implored fans to “ignore” any messages received from an unverified account.

In a short video clip, he said to fans: “Hi guys, it’s Martin here. So, I’ve got a public service announcement.

“I want you to know that this Instagram account, martinhendersonofficial with the blue tick, is the only account that I have.

“So if anybody reaches out to you from some other account, I don’t care what they tell you, I don’t care what the name of the account is.

“If it’s not this one, it’s not me,” Henderson sternly added. “That is my solemn oath to everybody.”

The Virgin River star went on: “I do not communicate in any way outside this account.

“So I’m sorry, unfortunately, it’s been happening quite a lot, it’s been brought to my attention, there’s nothing you can do about it.

“You can report them,” Henderson encouraged before concluding: “So if any of your friends say ‘oh, Martin’s been reaching out to me through some other account,’ it’s BS, it’s not me.”

Henderson signed off: “So yeah, just wanted to let you know, beware. Take it easy.”

The Jack Sheridan star reiterated his warning in the caption which accompanied the clip.

“This is MY ONLY ACCOUNT,” Henderson penned. “Sadly there’s been a few fake accounts trying to contact some of you.

“Please ignore any posts or messages from any other account besides this one. It ain’t me! Feel free to report them to Instagram. Sending light and love to all.”

Inevitably, it didn’t take long for hundreds of followers to voice their concern and appreciation for the warning.

“It is really too bad that some people have nothing better to do than to try things like what you said!! Thank you for the heads up,” one fan replied.

Another added: “Thanks for telling us [love heart emoji].”

“The people really don’t have anything else to do, but everything will be alright dear,” said a third.

For fans wanting to see more of Henderson as Jack, they face an anxious wait.

While Virgin River smashed the streaming ratings for July, Netflix is still yet to renew the series for a fourth run.

However, given the cliffhangers set up in the season three finale, there’s still plenty of stories to tell in the sleepy Californian town.

Virgin River seasons 1-3 are available to stream on Netflix now.
