Wendy Williams Show fans call for Sherri Shepherd to permanently replace troubled star as she struggles with health

FANS of The Wendy Williams Show fans have called upon guest host Sherri Shepherd to permanently replace the troubled daytime star during her recent health struggles.

Sherri, 54, received tons of online praise during her week as guest host for The Wendy Williams Show.

Wendy has had a tough couple of months after a COVID-19 diagnosis while dealing with her ongoing health problems.

The talk show announced that Wendy, 57, was "not ready" to return for the new season as her medical issues became a main priority.

It is still unknown when Wendy will be returning to her own show, which has been on the air since 2008.

While Wendy has been absent, fans started naming the former View host as a permanent replacement.

THE COMMENTS

One fan said: "I’m hoping she gets better…but Sherri is great! I think she needs a show of her own."

Another fan stated: "Just change it to The Sherri Show and let Sherri do Sherri!"

A third person chimed in: "The show needs not to have any more temporary hosts. This woman here should be her replacement until Wendy gets back."

A fourth person added: "I love Sherri Shepherd hosting Wendy. She's doing a great job."

A commentator pointed out: "If she doesn’t help herself, they better reformat the show and name it Sherri."

MORE GUEST HOSTS

Recently, another roundup of guest hosts has been announced for the show.

Jerry Springer and Michael Rapaport are among those named to fill in for Wendy.

From the show's press release, the statement read: "The Wendy Williams Show is excited to announce that actor and comedian and good friend to the show, Michael Rapaport will be guest hosting the week of November 8th.”

Michael said: “I’m very excited to fill in for Wendy and I’m looking forward to a great week of excellent shows.”

Actor Bill Bellamy has also been tapped to serve as host.

Bill said: "I have always loved being a guest on my friend Wendy's show!

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be here for her and I look forward to working with her amazing team."

WARDROBE MALFUNCTION

Besides Sherri, Leah Remini and Whitney Cummings were also some of the celebrities who have hosted this season.

While filling in for Wendy, Whitney, 39, suffered a major wardrobe malfunction while rehearsing with the crew.

In her video, a huge tear seamed down her pants and exposed her black thong underneath.

Whitney said: "I will not be as distracted when we do it on the day.

"I hope it does not happen on the day. If it does, just keep rolling."
