You may have noticed a familiar face has been missing from Coronation Street in recent weeks – Carla Connor.
Carla, played by Alison King, has been away from the cobbles since we all found out that Gary Windass (Mikey North) was responsible for the deadly factory roof collapse.
In the meantime, Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) has been overseeing Underworld, although it appears that Carla will be making an appearance tonight.
Fans of the misunderstood businesswoman will be happy to see her return – even if it will be a bumpy ride to her recovery.
For those who aren’t sure, though, where has she been?
What happened to Carla?
You may remember an episode back at the end of May, which was specifically focused on Carla’s mental health troubles.
She had been suffering from psychosis for some time, and had convinced herself that she was responsible for the roof collapse that killed Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia).
As her health declined, she began seeing people – Aidan (Shayne Ward), Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh), and naturally, poor Rana – all of whom are dead.
Carla was taken to Carlisle to recover from her breakdown in a treatment centre, and has now returned after around a month away.
As with any illness, however, it appears that she’s not going to be back to herself straight away. She is now lucid, but making some rash decisions that are raising the eyebrows of Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Peter Barlow (Chris Gasgoine).
She needs their support more than ever, but she might not be getting it.
