A glamorous Russian equestrian accused of hiring a hit man to murder her husband was a sex-crazed bisexual who loved being an ‘icy bitch’ with lovers, former friends have said.
Tatyana Remley, 42, was arrested on August 2 after the man she asked to kill her husband Mark Remley turned out to be an undercover policeman. She is being held at a San Diego jail.
Acquaintances told The New York Post that she was scheming and manipulative, and milked Mark Remley – who inherited $26 million from his parents – for his money.
‘I was surprised that she would be that brutal, but I know a couple guys who ‘played’ with her and they said she was an icy bitch,’ a former friend told the paper.
Another said she was ‘sex-crazed’ and used her looks to seduce wealthy men – although Remley is also said to have enjoyed lesbian affairs with women too.
Tatyana Remley and her husband had started several unsuccessful businesses over the years, including an indoor cycling studio (pictured) called Rhythm and Power
The equestrian claimed in divorce documents that her husband Mark (right) allowed a friend to rape and threaten her
Remley claimed in the bombshell court filing she was sexually assaulted at gunpoint in her home in May, three months before her arrest for the alleged murder-for-hire plot
‘She started with the polo players and pretty soon started targeting the rich men,’ said the former friend.
‘She was sex crazed and several of the guys had their way with her. When you have a body like that, it attracts attention.
‘Tatyana was doing pretty naughty things, and had a girlfriend too. And she was getting away with it.’
The friends said she worked her way through the San Diego polo scene before settling on Mark, who like her had been married before and had children.
‘I always wondered how she got someone like Mark,’ said a former acquaintance.
‘Everybody who would be honest thinks she was very, very lucky.’
He funded her disastrous pet project, a ‘Cirque de Soleil with horses’, which bankrupted the company he founded for the show in 2012.
She then turned her attention to polo – despite not being a strong rider – and convinced him to buy her five polo ponies.
Entry-level ponies cost between $5,000 and $15,000, but experienced animals trained at top yards can cost up to $200,000/
‘I knew she wasn’t a very good rider, but she thought she was a superstar,’ one friend said.
Tatyana was arrested after admitting her plans to have him killed and his body disposed of to an undercover detective, San Diego Sheriff’s Department has said
She fell off in her first competition and broke her arm, at the San Diego Polo Club in August 2015.
She then decided she was no longer interested, and the ponies were sold.
In 2015, the pair opened a cycling studio called Rhythm and Power, but it closed the next year for undisclosed reasons.
In April, Tatyana Remley said she and Mark intended on relocating to Wellington, Florida where the National Polo Center is located.
Yet by July she had filed for divorce, claiming her husband and his friends came into their home on May 21, with one of his friends raping her while Mark watched and laughed.
‘They forced entry into my bedroom and held me at gunpoint,’ Tatyana Remley said in her declaration.
‘I was raped by one of his friends, who also told me that he planned on killing me. This happened all while Respondent watched and laughed, allowing his friends to proceed.
‘They went to break my expensive horse statue in the yard and put the head of the horse in my bed, Godfather style.’
The couple previously made headlines a decade ago when they opened an ‘equine-human acrobatics show’ in 2012 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds known as Valitar, which soon went bankrupt

She alleged in the documents that her husband was a cocaine addict and had violent outbursts, due to mental illness.
Friends told the Post that they did not believe her claims, saying the couple both liked cigars and vodka, but Mark Remley was never known to do drugs.
She told a mutual friend in early July that she wanted him killed – and the friend went to police, who arranged a sting operation.
The undercover officer, posing as a hit man, arranged to meet her at a Starbucks on Loma Santa Fe Drive on August 2.
She allegedly brought three firearms and a ‘down payment’.
‘She provided detailed information on how she wanted her husband killed and his body disposed,’ officials with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.
She has pleaded not guilty.
