A massive fire engulfed a 33-story residential high-rise in South Korea on Thursday afternoon — forcing firefighters to evacuate hundreds of people, according to stunning local reports.
Burning slabs of concrete rained from the tower onto the street below as at least 15 people were rushed to hospitals, and 43 were evacuated to the roof of the building in Ulsan, according to footage posted by busan.com.
The stunning blaze likely began on the 12th floor of the tower around 11 p.m. local time.
Fueled by strong winds, it quickly spread to the roof and down the block, the Ulsan Fire Department told the outlet.
All 136 homes on the block were evacuated, fire officials said. The blaze also spread to a nearby shopping center, but those flames have since been put out.
