I’m a retired bodybuilding goliath at 50 – fans are stunned by my intense workout routines but age won't slow me down | The Sun

FANS were left stunned after a retired bodybuilding goliath was seen shifting huge weight during intense workouts at the age of 50.

Jay Cutler is one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time but his most recent workouts posted on social media have gone viral.

In his past time, the Massachusetts man won the coveted Mr Olympia four times in his professional career.

He was known for his quadriceps and insane physique but most notably for his signature quad-stomp pose.

Even though he is now retired, the former IFBB legend has amateur lifters gobsmacked with his jaw-dropping workouts.

Cutler's latest post on Instagram proved age is no limit – in which he captioned it: "It's Monday, let's get after it."

In the video, the 49-year-old performed a back cable crossover fly exercise.

The man looked absolutely jacked and went into beast mode as he pumped his way through the reps.

His abdominals muscles were so defined they looked like a turtle shell, while his lat muscles popped like crazy.

The video has more than 234,000 likes with fans left nothing but awe-inspired.

"Waiting for you to take out the Masters Olympia," an Instagram user said.

"Now that's how you workout your lats," one added.

"One of the greatest bodybuilders of all time," a second remarked.

"Insane… you are an animal," a third remarked.

"Total savage," another commented.

In 2006, Cutler defeated reigning champion Ronnie Coleman and took over as the new undisputed victor for the next few years.

Despite obvious hard work and discipline, the quad-stomp poser revealed another secret tip that attributed to his first Mr Olympia win.

He told the Mike Sartain podcast: "I'm not going to lie, there was a lot of diets… I ate 140 egg whites a day.

"So I was cracking eggs non-stop."

According to Essentially Sports, his protein meals consisted of more than 30 eggs a day because he had set a 500g protein target.

He also consumed about four pounds of meat every day.

Cutler also distanced himself from society and worked on his size and gains to defeat Coleman, which was the defining point of his career.
