THE Royal Baby's name tickled fans today as they pointed out that Archie's middle name "Harrison" literally means "Harry's son".
Twitter users were left in stitches when they spotted the pun in young Archie's middle name, just hours after the proud parents revealed their two-day-old son to the world.
One wrote: "Am I the only one to catch the pun in royal baby name? Archie HARRISON aka Harry's son lololoool".
While another added: "Harrison means 'Harry's son'. Just in case we didn't know the child was his.
"Although he didn't seem too sure himself when he asked "Is it mine?"
ALL IN THE NAME
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will not have a Royal title, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced today on their Instagram account.
They revealed the boy's name with an accompanying picture of him meeting his great-grandma The Queen for the first time, alongside Prince Philip and Meghan's mother Doria Ragland.
Archie will be known as a 'Master' after Harry and Meghan decided not to give him one of Duke of Sussex's lesser titles, the Earl of Dumbarton.
It is unclear why they chose the name Archie with royal sources saying: 'They may have just liked the name', indicating it may be another sign of the fiercely independent couple wishing to break with tradition.
TWO ARCHIES?
Archie is originally a German name with Scottish roots, where it is a shortened version of Archibald.
The new name could cause confusion among the royals as Prince George revealed his nickname was Archie when he started chatting to a dog walker earlier this year, The Sun revealed.
The new parents kept their sleeping baby boy swaddled in a traditional merino wool blanket from royal favourites GH Hurt & Son and hat as they gushed over their son during a low-key press conference in Windsor Castle's St George's Hall.
Since the birth the new family have been at their home in Frogmore Cottage, Windsor, with mum Doria helping out.
'IT'S MAGIC'
New mum Meghan, 37, kept a watchful eye over her baby boy, saying: "It's magic.
"It's pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I'm really happy."
And she said baby Archie, who is just two days old, already had the "sweetest temperament" – with Harry interjecting: "I don’t know who he gets that from!"
The loving parents couldn't keep their eyes off Archie, with Meghan putting a hand on her "dream" newborn as doting dad Harry held him tight.
She added: "It's been a special couple of days."
Asked who the baby took after, Harry said it was too early to tell.
"Everyone says that babies change so much over two weeks," said the 34-year-old prince. "We're basically monitoring how the changing process happens over this next month really. But his looks are changing every single day, so who knows..
Gazing at his son, Harry said: "Parenting is amazing. It's only been what – two and a half days, three days – but we are just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy and to be able to spend some precious times with him as he slowly starts to grow up."
