CASEY DeSantis has been married to Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, for more than a decade.
Ron and Casey share three young children.
Who is Ron DeSantis' wife Casey?
On October 4, 2021, Ron DeSantis revealed his wife had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
"As she faces the most difficult test of her life, she will have not only have my unwavering support but the support of our entire family, as well as the prayers and well wishes from Floridians across our state. Casey is a true fighter, and she will never, never, never give up," said DeSantis.
Casey DeSantis has been the first lady of Florida since her husband became governor in 2019.
She spoke of their new roles and raising little Madison, Mason and Mamie in an interview a few months after her husband took office.
It's the first time in five decades that young children are living in the governor's mansion in Tallahassee.
“We’re just going to make sure that they don’t destroy any of Florida’s irreplaceable history, because there are so many wonderful, neat artifacts around,” Casey DeSantis told Tallahassee magazine, referring to the historic mansion.
“You go into the dining room, you see stuff from the USS Florida. You see the late 19th-century wallpaper, and I don’t think that orange crayon would look good on that.”
Casey DeSantis is a former television news anchor and host.
She was raised in Ohio and received her Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Charleston in South Carolina.
How did Ron and Casey DeSantis meet?
It was the game of golf that brought her and Ron DeSantis together when she was working in television news in Florida.
"We met at the University of North Florida at the driving range off Kernan," she told First Coast News in 2018.
"I kept looking over my shoulder because I wanted the bucket of balls that somebody had left because my swing was so terrible.
"I needed as much practice as I could possibly get. As I'm looking over behind me, Ron is over there. He thinks I'm looking at him.
"I was really looking at the balls. Long story short we started to talk and that's how we met."

She added: "He does a good job. I'm very appreciative of the job he does when he gets the chance to be home."
They were married in 2010.
Why is Ron DeSantis rumored as 'missing'?
For the past few weeks, people have accused the governor of being missing as coronavirus cases spike in his state.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., was one of many who used social media to criticize the governor.
"Hasn’t Gov. DeSantis been inexplicably missing for like 2 weeks? If he’s around, I would be happy to say hello. His social media team seems to have been posting old photos for weeks," Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a tweet during her visit to Florida.
However, on December 29th, a spokesperson for DeSantis told Fox News that he was preoccupied accompanying his wife to treatments after she was diagnosed in October.
Communications staffer, Kyle Lamb, responded to critics via Twitter:
"Just FYI, @GovRonDeSantis is not on vacation. Literally no one from our office has said that he is… Not having public events does not = 'vacation'" Lamb wrote.
